Name: Elisabeth Reinkordt, aka Grindcore, Mama Cat
Occupation/Off-Bike Skills: I’m a documentary filmmaker, writer, editor, and education policy nerd. I also know a whole lot of things about Nebraska. And how to drive a tractor and other farm machinery.
Disciplines: Cyclocross, Gravel Endurance, Marathon/XC Mountain, and generally down for whatever
Cats or cat alternates: Elliot, the last feline standing from a former full squad of kitties (RIP Dottie and Daniel)
Favorite snacks: I have a weakness for Goldfish crackers.
Why do you ride?
Bicycles are empowering. I love the speed of travel by bike, whether I’m going fast or slow or want to stop and smell the flowers. I feel like I can go anywhere, and I always have fun doing it. Plus, the friendships I’ve made because of bikes are incredible. I commute by bike all year round, love racing off-road, and am learning to love racing on pavement since moving to Philadelphia.
