Name: Michaela/Chael Albanese
Occupation/Off-Bike Skills: When I am not riding bikes I am thinking about riding bikes. I work for Trek Bicycles doing demos and marketing in the Northeast. I also enjoy drawing stupid pictures and sometimes making jewelry, which often are bicycle inspired.
Disciplines: I spend most of my time on mountain bikes, I race xc and enduros, but my heart belongs to downhill.
Cats or cat alternates: I have two cat-sized dogs, Tuca and Boda.
Favorite snacks: French fries, burritos and donuts.
Why do you ride?
I have made bicycles my life because it’s impossible for me to get bored with them. There are always new places to go, every bicycle is a different experience to ride and to work on, and there is constantly new technology to learn about. Also, for me, nothing beats the thrill of hammering it for the win out of a field sprint or bombing down some rocky single track.
Bike career highlights:
It’s really hard to pick just one. I am super proud of receiving QBP’s Women’s Bicycle Mechanic Scholarship in 2016, attending the United Bicycle Institute because of it. I am also super proud of the work I’ve done with Little Bellas, and the Women Bike PHL Devo mountain team.
