So many exciting things to report in the land of Team Laser Cats! Here’s a round-up of just some of the things we’re up to from the desk of a proud Mama Cat.
Emma has powered her way into the Mid-Atlantic Cross Series 3/4 leader’s jersey, taking the win at Cooper River after a podium finish at Charm City CX.
Taylor took the win in the 3/4s at Day 1 of Charm City and punched her ticket into the UCI field, finishing on the lead lap at Day 2.
I love this photo that the ever dedicated @jtwieme captured today, because it's frame is so aligned with how I feel about my cycling career: I'm just riding onto the scene. I want to give a deep and sincere thank you to the woman (who wishes to remain anonymous) who approached me after my race at #CharmCityCx last year and strait up told me I would be in the UCI race this year, and that in fact she would purchase my license (no small expense!). This incredible gesture launched me into my first UCI race today feeling confident and loved. So, while I'm damn proud to have finished in 31st, 6 spots behind points placement, on lead lap with multiple world pros at a C1, right now what I'm focused on is how good it feels to have a whole lotta this ahead. #yungtaytaysunday
Also in the UCI field, Elisabeth has finished on the lead lap at both days of Nittany as well as Day 2 of Charm City CX, toeing the line with the likes of Katie Compton, Helen Wyman, Ellen Noble, Caroline Mani, Emma White, Amanda Miller and many more super talented women.
📣"When I say Laser, you say Cats!" 📣Pushed it so hard Sunday to make that lead lap at the #charmcitycx UCI C1 where @katiefncompton, @emmawhite7, and @cxhelen made for a no-slouch podium. Thanks to the crowd on this heckle hill for putting so many smiles on my face with your bullhorn chants. 📷: @bicycletherapy #wednesdayswithgrindcore #cyclocross
Sophia has a new feature on our team Instagram that is the cutest thing. She’s also working hard at schooling young architects.
Roz took a job with Verge Sports and moved back to Brooklyn, but is still venturing into the Mid-Atlantic for some races. She also raced the Wheelers & Dealers race at CrossVegas and is now in Poland for work.
Enduro season isn’t over, and Lindsay, Michaela, and Sam all have some fast downhill days in the near future.
In between getting really good at jumping off stuff, Sam is also sneaking into cross races on occasion and posting nice top-10 finishes when she does.
Rumor has it Michaela will be racing an enduro in a princess or hot dog costume…
After a long endurance MTB season, Lindsay is not only racing cross, but treating herself to a mountain bike clinic in the Shenandoah this fall, too.
Melissa is launching new products, including some really sharp-looking new socks.
Krista is crushing that nursing school game, looking fly in scrubs on her commute.
Eve jumped right in to team support as she witnessed her first cross race at Town Hall. Since then, she’s also hopped on a mountain bike with her dirt-loving teammates.
Tamia showed her Cadence Youth Cycling teammates what’s up at a special cyclocross clinic co-taught by Elisabeth and organized by Taylor. She and her peers put the new skills into practice at Cooper River CX. Tamia also raced at QCW earlier this fall.
Meghan is in the running for best mascot of Mother Belmont. Just kidding, we’re declaring her the mascot.
Michaela and Elisabeth said goodbye to this year’s wonderful class of Little Bellas, after eight Sundays of skill building, friendship making, and general awesomeness.
And while Taryn is tearin’ it up for the Fearless Femme squad this cross season, she’s still regularly teaching yoga for cyclists on Monday nights at Bicycle Therapy.
Taryn and Elisabeth presented at Moore College of Art’s Women’s Leadership Conference about finding confidence, building a network, and connecting to community through cycling and Team Laser Cats.
Worlds combining! Psyched to have @egrindcore and @trmudge speaking to students and young alumnae about their personal journeys of athleticism at @moorecollegeart today for their annual leadership conference for women in the arts. #mooreleadership #moorehomecoming2016 #worklifebalance #confidencethroughmovement
